This is what I've done. When I quilted my string quilt, I used a cone. My Juki is set up to pull the thread from up above but I had a bit of trouble with this cone at first. The thread would slip down and under the cone and, of course, cause problems. I solved them by taking on of the nets that Spec's gives you with wine bottles and put it over the cone running the end of the thread up and out the top. Worked like a charm! Now I just have to see if I have any more of those nets. Since I've found a use for them I don't want to throw them out. I don't buy enough wine since our dinner group fell apart to buy more than one bottle of wine at a time now.
