I have been doing this for over thirtyyears. I always draw the diagonal line on the beginning of my binding when I make the binding. When starting to sew the binding, I use my hand width to measure the binding and quilt at the beginning and leave that free before I start sewing. When I get the end of sewing the binding on, I leave a hand width of quilt free. I only cut the ending side of the binding this way. Thanks for posting the tut.
