Sorry I can't help you with this question, I've been using vintage machines older than I am (58) for my last 20 years or so of quilting and while I really love what others do with thread painting, it is not one of my pursuits. I was just recently given a modern era machine and hopefully will be learning new techniques but am currently feeling like an old dog...
