My first pet was a parakeet. I was under 10 years old and for the life of me I cannot remember his name. I would let him out of his cage once a day to fly around the room. I would stand across the room from him and tap my shoulder and he would fly across the room and land on my shoulder.
When I was 11 years old my parents let me have a dog. He was a terrier named Tippie. After I graduated from high school and went to work he would lay in the hallway and wait for me to come home. I taught him to walk on his hind legs and even spin around once during the walk across the room!
