The Singer 27 is a serious and capable machine. Singer’s VS machines from this period are easy to use, inherently reliable with a decent supply of new and second hand spares. For the sake of originality I would be reluctant to divorce a good machine from a splendid cabinet. 😢 However it’s now your property and taking up your space so the choice is yours of course.
