Ok, I've been going thru all the sewing machine discussions here since I started quilting a few months ago.

I have a Brother basic machine I got from Wal Mart a few years ago. Its ok, but it's like sewing on a mac truck. :?

I was in Hancock Fabrics today getting a {very good deal on} a darning foot to use on my Brother so I can fmq, since the feed dogs don't drop on that machine.

Hancock has a Janome 8077 machine that is regularly $359 and on sale for $259. It has almost everything I need/want right now, as a beginner. But I didn't buy it right away - we've been putting out money left and right on things this week (big money) and I just could NOT justify getting it right now......... sigh.

I also wanted to come home and look it up on the Janome website. Um, it doesn't exist there.

Do you think this is a knockoff or a lower model that is made somewhere other than the real Janome machines are made? When I say this, I mean, I know the Bernettes are not manufactured in the same place as the Berninas (the Bernettes are made in China).

Does anyone here own a 8077? If so, how do you like it?

Sorry if this was long-winded............
Thanks!
Martha
