Thank you to all who mentioned keeping the 27!
I finally got a belt on it, oiled it up, and started cleaning.
It is actually a joy to sew with. aai was a bit intimidated at the thought of the shuttle, but it works like a dream.
First use of a treadle, and as long as I don't get it going the wrong way it works great.
