feline fanatic has said everything I was thinking. Repeating the some of the fills is what pulls everything together. Consistency in the density is also important. Many quilters use about 3 fills to repeat.

Judy Madsen is a Master quilter and uses more technical designs. You can get great ideas from her. For someone that does more loose quilting, you could youtube Angela Walters.

I have purchased Judy Madsen classes on iQuilt. I was very happy with my results. She gives you a pattern so you are quilting exactly what/where she does. I did her two examples, then made a small quilt and quilted it with my own ideas. I have purchased another of her classes but have not been able to do the quilting yet. I am anxious to do be able to get to them. :-). After Christmas.
