I have been thinking about and wanting to buy a wool pressing mat for quite a while, but just refuse to pay the price. I have a 100% wool throw that was included in the bonus "roadside emergency package" when my daughter bought her first car. It's quite thin around the edges, but is 64"x100". I folded it twice and have had it on my ironing board for about 2 weeks. It's working nice, so I think I'll try felting it in the washer & just see what happens.
