I love doing LCs and I found for me the easiest and most accurate method is to use oversize pieces and trim them after you sew the seam. As long as I start with the size square I want. I have tons of scraps in all sizes, separated into light, medium and dark. Pull, sew, trim. No need for exact cutting at all. Just decide what fnished size you want the logs to be.
