I use the tan leather ones on my right middle finger and the short black leather ones on my left thumb. The tan one is called a Skin Thimble. I probaly have a dozen or more of them scattered all over my house. I keep little boxes with a small pair of scissors, some needles, a small pin cushion and of course thread anywhere I might sit down to handquilt. I also have those little kits in several tote bags that I carry to certain meetings etc. If anyone is interested I have a web site where you can order them. I am been able to find them in stores. They have a little piece of elastic inside. If it feels to tight I just snip part way through the elastic to loosen the thimble. They also have a little plastic coin shapped pad
inside that keeps the needle from pricking your finger if it goes through the leather.
