I like Presencia 60 wt/3 ply for piecing as it is finer and seams lay flatter.
This is my favorite brand too ever since Harriett Hargrave recommended it in a class I took from her. Another benefit is that since it is so thin more thread can be wound on your bobbin meaning fewer bobbin changes.
I buy it online in cones. It is expensive, but the cones last a very long time. Here is a website that I have used in the past to buy it:

At our guild's Christmas party we were given a gift spool of Connecting Threads Essentials. I can't wait to use it up. I have to clean the lint out of my machine two or three times between bobbin changes. Who knows how much buildup of lint has occurred deeper in the machine where I can't get to it. If I'm ever given another spool of it , I'll give it away.
