Thank you, mmunchkins. That's good information. Hopefully, Uber keeps up with whether or not their driver's are carrying the required amounts.
Here's an interesting article about Uber and insurance. Something I hadn't thought about is that some insurance companies won't cover Uber drivers since they have personal car insurance and when driving are operating a business. So even if they have the coverage, they won't pay if you are in an accident and end up in the hospital. You'll be on the hook for whatever your insurance company doesn't pay.
