If your invisible thread comes on a small spool, rather than a cone, I find that if I just set the spool in a jar by my machine then thread it through the thread guides, it pulls freely off the spool without snagging or knotting up. It just kinda bounces around the jar, but it works!
This is what I do also but I tape a closed safety pin to the right end of the machine as an extra thread guide. I save olive jars for this purpose and use them with the short cones that Anton-Robison or Hemingway come on. The jars need to be heavy enough that they don't tip over easily. Of course, there are also the fancy thread stands with extendable thread guides one can buy, but the jars are the "in a pinch and want to get this done" remedy.
