Give the machine a good cleaning then oil it. Don't be afraid to oil it on the inside. If there are any plastic pieces in your machine don't put oil on them. I oil only metal area that move. Using only a drop of oil on each area. Then I take the bobbin out and the thread out of the needle and run my machine as fast as it can go for just a couple of minutes. Also there is a lot of help on the web for vintage machines on U-tube that might help you!
