I posted about this in the Main section so won't repeat it all here. But this is my first attempt at a string quilt, supposedly carefree, relaxed, sewing -- which I didn't exactly find it to be!
(The white at the top and bottom is a sheet beneath it).
But it was fun and I'm happy enough with the result. It was an experiment, both to use up scraps and because I'd never made a string quilt before, and consequently is far from perfect, especially the secondary pattern of squares and hourglasses. While I love scrappy quilts, I've discovered I'm more of a controlled scrappy type, so will probably plan ahead when making the next one. This one measures about 72x57.
