Default Galapagos Sea Turtles

My DH has had the Galapagos Islands on his bucket list ever since I met him in 1969. In February we finally got to go to Ecuador and its National Park of the islands. We even got to celebrate our 46th anniversary on the boat, our accommodations for the 8 days! It is amazing to see animals that don't exist anywhere else in the world: blue footed boobies, marine iguanas, giant tortoises to name a few. Because Ecuador has done a great job controlling its treasure, the animals haven't had bad experiences with man and are unafraid. Sea lions nurse their pups within yds (a 2 meter distance is required) and often are curious enough to swim and snorkel with you. Birds nest just feet off the path, and often iguanas will cross in front of you going along their merry way. If you ever get the chance...go!

Before we left I managed to make Toni Whitney's Sea Turtles wall hanging as a tribute to our trip. Here is the "real version" and mine. Enjoy.
