I am right handed and always cut with fabric to the right. I hold ruler with left hand and walk that hand down the ruler as I cut. Doesn't make since to me to do it any other way.
That's the way I cut too. I can't imagine trying to cut on the left side of the ruler. And I took drafting for two years and am right handed. Never did like drafting that much and left it behind.
