1-5 eggs.... put into pot and cover with cold tap water . Bring to boil.... full rolls boil.... then cover and remove from heat. After 14 minutes... for large eggs .... drain, cover with ice cubes and coldest tap water and leave about 30 minutes.
For 6 eggs or more... when water comes to boil, boil hard for one minute before covering and removing from heat, then proceed as above.
No dark rings and eggs peel well. Also helps. To use week old eggs.
