I am currently making the Sew Fresh Quilts weekly blocks of Harry Potter and using all Kona. I found that if I spray the fabric prior to cutting with Terial Magic (a very stiff liquid stabilizer that washes out), the raveling is almost non-existent. Some of my pieces are as small as a 1" sq. unfinished & everything fits together perfectly. The fabric is almost as stiff as cardboard. I did find that the spray may leave a mottled look depending on the density of the spray, but should wash out.
A Harry Potter quilt is next on my list! That one is for my daughter. I'll have to check out the Sew Fresh Quilts. My daughter is an avid reader, with a gazillion books, so I thought I would make a book shelf quilt with HP objects on it.
I've never heard of Terial Magic. I'm not sure if using a liquid stabilizer is the way I want to go with the Zelda quilt. My first choice is find a fabric that will behave the way I want. Thanks for the info!
