Oh, I save those, too! I use them for cut pieces and some for thread -- one color to a box. I have a thread box that I thought I'd love but don't due to the spool spaces, so I've devised another way to store thread that I have many spools of in the same color.

It's possible that I save too many "free" containers, lol!
