I have a top loader GE with an agitator and the lid doesn’t lock until the spin cycle so I can add something while
it is filling. It is about three and a half years old. I understand speed queen made its last really good washer a few years ago and then changed them. We are just two people who don’t get that dirty so my machine does a good job for us. It has a speed cycle I use quite a bit. It will wash a quilt nicely too.
