Quilt shows are for my enjoyment, and that means I go a-l-o-n-e. Hubby would just not be fun to have there. Nor girlfriends, even ones who are other quilters. I like to get around and do what I want without having to worry about anyone else. I've always gone to Paducah alone and love it that way. If I want to chat with someone, there are friendly people everywhere who will talk with you about anything and everything.
Hubby is interested in my quilting, just not to the degree that I am. It's fine.
