Somebody sure liked pink, didn't they? Am so happy that your friend rescued these projects and they will be put into something of good use. They are darling and so well made. I'm like you--utilize all of the Sues into one project to make the quilt bigger. They certainly cleaned up well! As to the sashing--I don't care for the blue that you have placed near the block. In my opinion, it's "too". I do like the colors in the tiles that the blocks are on though! Can you find something similar that doesn't compete with the many colors in the girl's dresses? The many mottled colors in the tile are good with the blocks.
I have never seen the design of the hexies but certainly interesting. Will quilting secure the pieces that are raveling? Are you hand or machine quilting? The recipient needs to be aware that this quilt may not stand up to heavy use and needs a bit of care if it is to be preserved.
