When I was vegetarian I didn't care for analogs (term for foods meant to look/taste/replace meat) and the technologies of living in Alaska during the 70s probably didn't help. But one of our favorite places now is a Vietnamese vegetarian restaurant run by a buddhist nun. Even my hubby would swear many of the dishes you would just never know it wasn't meat.
Sorry...I'm slightly off topic here, but I had to reply to this post. We also have a Buddhist restaurant near us and their food is amazing! Our place is located inside a Buddhist "university" and is staffed by the students. It's totally vegan, but you would never miss the meat. They have some very unique dishes. Our whole family loves the place. Cheap too!
