I've made quilts from my fathers shirts and used a Jacobs Ladder Pattern. They turned out wonderful. However, the tears flowed each time I started to debone the shirts and couldn't get started for quite some time. Be easy and patient with yourself. Now, when my children or I look at the quilts we have and surround ourselves in the memories they bring, hearts are full and I am so grateful to have made them for each of us. What a wonderful treasure of memories are in store for you when you get to the point of wrapping yourself up in your husbands shirts.
