All I can say is that I got an instaPot for Christmas last year and didn't even take it out of the box. Sold it on Craig's list and the lady was thrilled to buy it. I have no use for something new and I have bad visions of my grandmother's pressure cooker exploding one time. But----I have friends that love their instaPot. You might be happier to return it if you are hesitant to use it.
