I just replaced my 20 year old washer and dryer that died about a month ago. After doing a lot of research, I went with a Maytag Bravos set. Model # Washer MVWX655DW Dryer MEDX655DW. The washer has a glass top so you can see inside during the wash cycle. It can be opened during the cycle if you forget something. You cannot open the lid during the spin cycle. The dryer has the lint filter is on the top. The washer does not have the tall agitator which I was concerned about, but it is fine. I am very happy with both units.
