Butterfly Wall Hanging for GD
I posted a photo of my wall hanging when I was in the process of making it and I have finally finished it. The wall hanging was for my GD who raised caterpillars into Black Swallowtail butterflies last summer. My son sent me a photo of one of the butterflies on a yellow lily and I copied that photo. I did "reverse" appliqué on the butterfly, cutting holes in the wings and putting the blue and yellow fabric underneath the holes. The rest of the appliqués were done with fusible stabilizer. This was a labor of love and I enjoyed every minute of doing this wall hanging. FMQ'd it myself and felt good about the process. (I don't always like my FMQing.)
