Grandchildren are just the best. I have 3 of each, but mine are all grown now, youngest is 14. And they all have quilts I have made for them.
,
This week I have been just kind of floating along, not feeling very motivated. I have put some new ideas in the "box" in my head for future projects. A friend of mine does a lot of charity work gifting to foster kids, and various shelters. I help her out by making pillowcases that are used as gift bags for the foster kids. And this year I am going to use a bunch of scraps or FQs to make fabric boxes she can fill with various goodies, soap, toothbrushes, knitted washcloths, etc. I figure it is a good way to use up batting scraps and fabric scraps. And I can quilt them using the fancy stitches on my new Babylock Aria. I got it last Black Friday, so it is not totally new, but the newest machine in my corral. I admire you ladies who can just grab any old scrap and turn it into a work of art. It is a struggle for me to go scrappy. I guess I was an apparel sewer for too many years, plus my mother sits on my shoulder and tells me when fabrics don't match or the colors aren't compatible. I love her sitting there but don't always like her opinions.
