I bought the Black and Decker at Walmart for $25.00 (the department store where I first saw it wanted $45.00, Amazon.com $30.00 plus shipping). It seems to do what I wanted it to do. It doesn't glide well, but in quilting your not supposed to glide across the fabric anyway. I don't think I would want to iron my clothes with it, although I had one just like it many years ago.
I think the auto-off function in irons quits working after awhile, in that the irons first don't heat up and then won't turn on. I have had several.
