That's funny. Turn it around and sew. I'll have to try that just for giggles. It is a Sears Kenmore Model 158 #1787180, It has two straight stitches (one is for a double needle I believe), 4 decorative stitches, and and 18 utility stitches. It was made in Taiwan. Singer had a factory there starting in 1963 I read. It is a high shank I believe, but has an adaptor foot on it allowing you to snap on regular low shank feet. It's fairly heavy. I would estimate maybe 30 lbs.

A nice woman on the board here PM'd me explaing how to clean it up and then lubricate it. I will have to try that and see if it improves the situation.
