I used a dark grey thread on the front for the pebbles because it matched a dark grey that is part of the pattern. I figured it would be camouflaged in there a bit. Also, to be perfectly honest, I decided I would do "messy" pebbles, not exact ones. My theory is if you can't be perfect, then make it look deliberate
