n2scraplvr, I know the lemon trick, but they were already brown. In fact, I was surprised at how fast they went brown.
Lisa & n2scraplvr, topping them with butter, cinnamon and brown sugar sounds perfect! I'd been thinking that if I hadn't cut it up, I could have made a baked apple.
pinklissamel, apple pancakes sound divine - but I'm hopeless at making pancakes. However, I can manage crepes, so maybe next time I'll do that... ohh, yeah!
