This quilt had 20 charms around each of the 30 blocks, and 10 charms in each of the 20 flowers, using a minimum of 800 charms or a birthday swap of 16 participants. I could have used more to bind the edge, in cornerstones, as leaves, or on the backing. But this gives you an idea. There was some waste because I had to pick over to get all green squares to make a flower. But the charms around the blocks are all from the same person, there was no crossovers, I wanted each block to be a memory of a particular swapper. Just as each block was a memory of a family event.
