My first quilt was a gift for my then boyfriend, now husband of many years. He had a Ford Pinto with a Levi's interior package meaning it was all upholstered in denim. It was a whole cloth quilt. Two pieces of denim sewn right sides together then turned, so no binding, and no batting. I quilted it in six inch squares. One square had a pocket that I salvaged from an old pair of my jeans. I also added the leather label from those jeans. We used it for the beach and picnics while we were dating. It still rides around in the back of his Subaru.
