I recently made three baby quilts with minky and cotton on top. I found that I had to be sure the minky was always on bottom when sewing to ease it in. Since my quilts were made up of squares, when sewing rows together, I would sew up to where the next minky block was on top, backstitch, skip that block and continue. Once I reached the end, I would flip it over and stitch the skipped sections. They came out beautiful and my sons and DIL's loved them.
