When you say the purples stand out too much I assume you mean the small chain that is in the middle? Yes they do stand out but I don’t think it is a bad thing - your eye gets drawn to that part first before looking at all the details surrounding it. All quilts need contrast in my opinion .
I sort of considered this particular quilt to be a flower arrangement of garden flowers. So I wanted a good variety of color and some greenery.
Yes, the purple chain in the center is what I am still a bit tempted to switch out. If it was a flower I would have removed it.
I haven’t quilted that part yet so I still have time........
