I usually don't cut down until I have a plan for the scraps. But when it comes to strips LC blocks or a variation of LC is my go to. I especially like offset LC so I cut 1 1/2" and 1" strips. I do have some 2" strips in my stash. I usually only cut down to those if I am in the last bits of yardage and have that amount left or they are the trimmings from backings. I seperate by value, light, medium and dark and store them in Ziploc bags. Not the best storage method as I find I often have to iron a strip that I may pull out of the bag. Also not many of these strips are WOF they are usually odds and ends. I wouldn't recommend 2" as I don't think that size plays very nicely with other shapes but they are handy for making 1 1/2" HST units. And I have also raided them for 1" strips for LC blocks. Cutting them in half.
