Hey my DF! I saw this thread & thought I'd let ya know what I do. I have several categories that I put my scraps in. I don't cut 'em regularly.
I sort 'em by these categories;
Strings & Chunks
* Strings are sorted in several sizes.
Spaghetti (1/2" or smaller. Ready to be cut into confetti)
Small Strings (between just bigger'n 1/2" & up to just smaller'n 1 1/2")
1 1/2" strings
Med strings (Between Just bigger'n 1 1/2" up to just smaller'n 2 1/2")
2 1/2" strings
Big strings (Between just bigger'n 2 1/2" up to 6")
*Chunks are also sorted into categories.
Lg Chunks (Pieces that are bigger'n 3" pieces. They could be as big as 6" X 8".)
Med Chunks (Pieces that are between 1 1/2" & 3")
Crumbs (They have to be just bigger'n a half " up t 1 1/2")
Confetti (pieces cut tiny for stuffing for pillows)

Now I don't get all caught up in the measurements. I eyeball 'em.
I am able to go to these cartegories & cut my pieces how ever I need to.

Everything bigger gets sorted by color.
