I must disagree with this statement. I’ve never had my SAS or MistyFuse wash away, even after years of washing. It will pull away if not applied correctly, or if fabrics having sizings or have not been prewashed. Both SAS and MistyFuse suggest prewashing. Some tend to apply SAS for a few seconds and wonder why it doesn’t stick after washing. You must apply SAS with high heat and steam for 20 seconds for the adhesive to bond to both the applique and background fabrics. MistyFuse takes much less time to adhere than SAS.
Both do say some fabrics have finishes which can interfere with adhesion, but this should not happen with cottons if applied correctly.
