I have a Janome 6600 and have not had any trouble with that button. I also need to take my machine in for a general all over check but don't want to be without it for 2 to 3 days. Sorry I can't help you but I know everyone on this QB is so knowledgeable and someone will come to your rescue. Maybe you could google it and get some info on the problem. Good luck
