This happened to my Brother 1500. I looked up and the thread was unwinding as fast as I was sewing right onto the wheel. LOL I was able to unwind the thread very slowly and gently off the wheel. It took a long time but saved a trip to the shop. If I hadn't looked up when still sewing I never would have seen the thread unwinding. I never leave a spool of thread anywhere near the wheel now.
