I've over-glued some of my EPP pieces before. I went ahead and stitched them into the blocks, then waited to remove the papers until I normally would. I used a damp (not soaking wet) washcloth to dampen the fabric, then right away used a butter knife to "scoot" the now-damp fabric off the back of the paper pieces. Yes, it is a little messy and not the ideal situation, but I don't want to waste the fabric or the time I spend fussy cutting and basting.
