I have quilts to quilt, but my attention has been diverted to a hand embroidery project I couldn't wait any longer to start. It's a very old set of fabric transfers for state birds and flowers. They are embroidered on 9" blocks, then the blocks are set on point, alternated with solid blocks. My older sister had this quilt when we were young, made for her by her godmother, and I always loved it. Couldn't believe the transfers were still for sale when I found them over a year ago! So, I'm on bird #1, a Western Meadowlark....
