What kind of dishwasher detergent did you use? I tried Cascade, and it bleached out the color. (This happened on an old sweatshirt, so it didn't matter - I just added more detergent here and there, and now the sweatshirt has spots all over).
I used to use hair spray...that worked pretty well too, but aerosol is a no no now, and I haven't bought hair spray in years.
