I made my recently graduated granddaughter a queen size quilt in her favorite colors. I would call it a "big girl quilt" . She was thrilled with it. I figure she can take it with her whatever she decides to do with her life. She is going to college locally so doesn't need a dorm quilt. The others went away to college so they got good size dorm quilts. I think they appreciate them more if they have a little say in what they want, colors, size, etc.
