Default Snow! A great day for making a quilt

I got up around 4am and looked out the window to a gentle snow. I thought this is a great day to do my favorite winter activity, making a quilt. So far we have 4" and expecting more before this one is over. My sister was snowed in and is hibernating now until spring. She got 11" the other day and expecting another 6-8". She is already hunkered down with her quilting supplies.
I am making great progress with the re-make of my baby quilt and with this weather I am glad I don't have to be out in it. This is the best weather for quilting.
Now here's the question do others here find they quilt more in the winter than summer months or does it make a difference.
I also find it more pleasurable to hand quilt in the winter especially sitting in front of the fire place.
