I got the Basic combed cotton ultra this time but have also gotten the Kona cotton quilting weight and I couldn't see any difference. Maybe the prewashing might help. I'm making something to resell so hesitate to do that but may try it if I get frustrated enough. At $17.50 a yard, it seems like they could make a softer fabric like Moda, Timeless Treasures or any of the other name brands out there that cost at least 25% less.

I think the difference is that those other companies are making large quantities of fabrics and can use different methods of printing than small batch companies can. I don't believe its the fabric. It's the printing process that makes the difference.
