Your quilt is looking great. My first was similar but it was 2" squares & I alternated solid squares & print squares. I pieced & quilted it by hand (all straight stitching). I still have it but it is falling apart everywhere. I didn't know anything about 1/4" seams & that was back in the 60's when we didn't have rotary cutters.
Your colors are great. I look forward to seeing the finished quilt.
